Materials that age with grace
Trend finishes shout for a season and then look tired. The materials we favour are quieter: stone that takes a soft polish, timber that darkens honestly, plaster that holds the mark of light rather than fashion.
A kitchen counter that can take a knife and a wet glass will still look composed in ten years. A floor that asks for care will reward it. We would rather show a house with a few honest scratches than one wrapped in surfaces that cannot be repaired.
When we walk a property with a client, we touch the materials. We ask how they will clean, how they will feel in monsoon humidity, how they will look when the furniture changes.
Graceful ageing is not nostalgia. It is the decision to buy something that can keep becoming itself.
